I'll always remember. 23 hours of labor and an unplanned c-section to deliver my daughter. It was a beautiful time when she finally arrived, and was such a blur. I finally fell asleep that evening when I woke up to my husband slipping his hand into mine. "Are you ok?!" I asked, startled awake. "I'm just so happy," he replied squeezing my fingers. "I'm just so happy"; The perfect summation of the joy it is to have a new little human who is yours to love. You NEED to capture this happiness and their tiny perfection! Everyone will tell you how fast they grow up, but until you have a child of your own, you don't truly understand. THEY GROW UP SO FAST. It isn't fair. Time is a thief and soon their little fingers, toes, cooing sounds, sweet expressions, all grow and change. Don't put off scheduling newborn pictures. They are a MUST! Capture the happiness and capture your tiny, perfect little baby right away!

I also remember what it was like being pregnant. Some love pregnancy and feel the glow. Me on the other hand... I felt huge. Uncomfortable. Less than glamorous. But you know what, it was a special time in our marriage. My husband was so supportive and understanding and thoughtful and I wanted that captured in pictures. While I didn't originally think I wanted pictures when I felt the way I did, I realized how beautiful my body was by putting a on a beautiful dress, having a good friend do my make-up, and embracing that this was a special time in my and my husband's life. I urge you. Embrace your body no matter how you think you look. Our bodies do some insanely amazing things and creating life deserves to be recognized and remembered! Yes, you'll have a sweet little one to take pictures of soon, but you deserve to be captured too mama!
